I've been pirated!!!

And it's not the first time... Luckily this has been pointed out to me by some very nice ladies - thank you gals! - and now I'm just smashed. This blog (LINK REMOVED FOR SAFETY REASONS) just copies my content and post the links as if they were her own. I really give out freebies because I enjoy it and I'm happy to see people enjoy them too... the only thing I ask for in return is just to respect my copyright. Is it that much?... Why not just link to my blog, that would be absolutely easy for both of us. I've contacted the Blogger support for help, yet they say I should post some legal paper to them... Hopefully I can make it later. Unluckily (though I tried many times!!!) I cannot add a single comment to any post on this piracy blog. If anyone finds out just occasionally how to reach that lady I would be forever grateful.
Thank you for your attention guys & sorry fortaking to much time from you,
Irene

Irene . . . it looks like there are lots of people being pirated there . . . I noticed a few names. Are you a member at DST (digishoptalk.com)? They have a designers forum and they might want to know and be able to help you out.

I think it is a sincere misunderstanding. She says that none of the contents are hers at the top, and that they are freely available on the net. She is just one of those people who blog about freebies from throughout the net.

She has a little shoutbox like yours on her main site so you can contact her through there. If you find she doesn't speak English, I would be happy to help since I speak Spanish.

There's no mistake on that blog - she is posting kits that are for sale - they are not freebies. There's so much on there from one site, that someone must have hacked into her shop to get them all.

Irene - take a look at http://nbk-nicnic.blogspot.com/ here May 5th entry has something about how to make a comment for that blog.

I just went and used FLAG THIS BLOG on many of her/his other blogs (the horizontal buttons at the top). Hopefully if enough people do that Blogspot will look at everything she does.

Everything from software, to plug-ins, to CDs, and maybe more, my years of Latin tudy only goes so far in Espanol. :)

That's really sad Irene! It's not right, but at least it would be understandable is they were all freebies, but like another poster said, some of things she has posted are for sale. I hope you can contact her and at least let her know not to post your items. Unfortunately I couldn't even read her blog, so I'm not sure what it says.....

I'm so sorry you have to deal with that, I don't understand how people can keep doing that kinda thing. Why people can't just be NICE is beyond me. Hopefully you can get her to stop posting your links.

I'm so sorry Irene! How can people sleep at night when they do shady things? This really makes me upset and disappointed that someone feels fine with doing something like this. Keep us updated with how everything goes!

That sucks Irene - I notice she still has "Get Kitty" up there - it would let me leave a comment on that entry but it's moderated so she'd never publish any bad comments. I like Deb's idea of flagging the blog. I'll do that.

I'm so sorry Irene! I went to try to figure out what she took. I was able to see she had Get Kitty, but it was linked to your site. At the bottom it said something about "Autor" so I clicked on it and it led me to your blog. I can only assumed the other word was "Download". She should just have the link to your site and not the Download. I wouldn't want anything from her site but I will download it from your site because I love you and because I can go to your site and see that it is indeed a freebie! I can't figure out where to write her either. Good luck! I hope you can do something!

Toni said...

I am so sorry that someone has done that to you when you have been kind enough to give the kit as a freebie.

I can't read the site in Spanish but left a comment in English, they are moderated so I am guessing she is not going to post it but asked her to think of the feelings of the designer who did all the hard work - if she speaks English maybe she will give some thought to those she is hurting, maybe she hasn't thought about that side of it.

I've been going through that blog and emailing notices to the stores and designers whose Non-Free kits are being offered for download. -THAT- is not a misunderstanding, it's piracy.

Malina is a good person who helps all, she does not obtain ningun benefit. She does not say that the material is his(yours), promotes designers and facilitates the links that he(she) finds for Internet of these materials.

She does not listen what nobody speaks because already this one satiates of threats.

The famous mas designers allow to distribute your material with his your credits. And the one who buys material in shops has right to give disadvantaged others.

Irene Alexeeva said...

Thank you gals for your support and good advice on what to do with that too. Actually I'm sure that it'piracy - if she was promoting the designers than she should have posted links to their blogs, and not to the zips to grab them.

That is awful!
I had a look and recognise stuff from other places too, I tried one link, giving her the benefit of the doubt that maybe she was just giving a bit of free advertising, and it would link to that designers page but no, it goes straight to a download (which of course I didn't do!LOL!)
Im not sure what 'Forin' is trying to say there, but if by
"The famous mas designers allow to distribute your material with his your credits. And the one who buys material in shops has right to give disadvantaged others." they mean "Hey, if I bought it I can give it away to others" then NO WAY JOSE!! Someone needs to explain copyright and plain old conscience to these guys!!GEEZ!!

I sometimes download freebies from different sites. I really liked the doggy one as I have a cute daschund. I clicked through to the other site and it looked OK. I'm a bit confused what does a person have to look out for to know if goods are pirated or not. Where can one read up on copyrights and what is acceptable and what not. Is there different norms or is their one standard.

Anitza said...

I posted a reply to her Get Doggy post, and wanted to copy it here, since she most likely will not make it public:

Basically, it says
"Why do you continue to post stuff that isn't yours? If it is on the net, then yes, it is on the net. One needs to make the recommendation for the original artist and link to their individual pages. The designers give away kits as promotion so that people go to their blogs and eventually purchase items from them and have a fanbase. In each kit, there is a document that specifies what you can do with the kit. Most of them say that you cannot redistribute them, ESPECIALLY if it is not a free kit. Purchasing a kit does not give you the right to give it away for free on your blog. That is piracy."

Gloves are off. She came to my journal and said:
"porque no dejas de meterte donde no te llaman?
Porque no sigues a lo tuyo y dejas a los demás en paz? Tu no eres quien para decir lo que tienen que hacer otras personas.
Preocupate de tus cosas y cierra tu bocaza. Pirata!"

Which translates to
"why don't you stop butting into where you don't belong?
Why don't you pay attention to your stuff and leave others in peace? You are no one to tell other people what to do. Worry about your own things and shut your trap. Pirate!"

I can't believe it. What an idiot!

I just "met" you Irene, but I just wanted to let you know that I am VERY SORRY that so much seems to be going on for you right now, between the store and being pirated. I cannot believe she was SO RUDE to anitza. Sorry. I wish I knew enough about this stuff to offer you some effective advice. I can only say that I will pray for you.

Oh my!!! I'm fresh out of bed and just read this... to say that's insulting is to say nothing!!! I feel sorry for you, Anitza - that's absolutely devastating! I think we'd better pass it on to Blogger to decide what to do to avoid other insults... Since I'm speechless too!

I just went to the site mentioned in Debs comment [nbk] and then went to the site nkb was talking of. Your kit is there and when I click the link to download it directs me straight to your blog, not a download link. Which is what you are looking for. I have no idea if this has just changed or even if this is the original place that you were being pirated from. I clicked on no other as I didn't want to chance getting a download ... I already have your kit via YOUR blog so felt safe seeing where the link took me.

I hate pirating. Esp of free kits, come on all it takes is a friendly link back to the original blog and all is well. But directly linking the download as if it is theirs to give away is downright deplorable. So sorry that you had this happen to you and hope you get it all sorted out.

Yes Muma, luckily the lady changed the links and now they lead to my blog. She mentioned tho, that she did this because I asked her amiably LOL otherwise she wouldn't do that :)

I don't get people. Why do people think it's ok to steal? You have really cute stuff and I truly appreciate the feebies. Don't let that bad apple spoil your pie! Karma...it's a beautiful thing sometimes.

I would really hate to post this if it was not a for sure thing. I don't know if this is the site you are looking for or not. I did not see a way to PM you which I would rather do. You can e-mail me so I can send you the site.

That's a bunch of crap about her misunderstanding. Take a look at melinamaniac (dot)com. She has pirated software on there. Anyone want Photoshop? Better get it before I get to Adobe. LMAO. I'm going to see if I can get them to take down the whole shebang. I see she's got at least 8 blogs.

That UGLY site is down!!!! WoooooHoooo!!! It's kinda cute what is up there now!!! I left a cute little note!!! Go Irene!!! Go Girls!!!! We did it!!!! Bye bye pirata!!!

Malina has erased the blog of scrap because she does not want to harm persons.

She helps the desfavorecidossin I benefit not even advertising.

ForIn said...

Anitza, Malina no ha escrito esas palabras. Ella es amable.
Eso lo habrá escrito algún descerebrado.

Anitza said...

As I said in the comment you left in my blog, my comment was screened. It was never made public by Malina, so it was either her or someone with backend access to her blog. Besides, the comment you left on my journal today matches the ip address of the poster who left me the original insulting comment. I am not new to the internet or internet drama (sadly), so you will have to do better than that to try and fool me.

The best thing in that situation is to contact 4shared or who ever she uses for her downloads and advise them she is pirating your work. They will close her account. OK she may just sign up with someone else but at least she won't be happy!!

I'm so sorry to hear this is happening to you and I hope its been resolved now! Please dont let the actions of one person stop you from sharing your beauty with the world! hugs
